Red Carpet Ready.

This past weekend, I had the unforgettable opportunity to attend the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.  It was a weekend full of running around backstage, rocking out during soundcheck, and strutting down the red carpet.  I got to see first hand all the hard work that is involved in making the Billboards such an entertaining and phenomenal show.  Sunday was show day, which meant lights, camera... red carpet.  To get red carpet ready, I woke up extra early to get all glammed up. (and in a classic Chloe move I almost glued one of my eyes shut while applying eyelashes...oops!)  I decided to post all the details to my red carpet outfit. In honor of the hot summer weather, I went for a fun, colorful outfit for the show. I chose a two piece skort and crop top combo, both from LF.  I loved the pastel colors in the skort and the detailing in the top.  It definitely kept my cool all day under that hot desert sun.

Secret Garden
Sometimes you just need a refreshing escape from the post-week 6 madness! Nestled at the edge of the Anderson School of Management (we love a lot of things in this area!), this little garden is full of greenery and has a nice path for a short run or walk. For the beautiful 70's-and-sunny weather, Jenna is wearing a crop top and maxi skirt with gold accessories. Have a great week and remember to take care of your mind and body!

Edgy and Easter
Spring is the perfect time to celebrate the different sides of your style. Some days, you might want to look classically cool, ready to rock and roll and take on the world. Other days, you might want to look preppy, ready to celebrate the rebirth of spring and final quarter of school. Whatever your daily choice, we've got you covered. Chloe likes the old time rock and roll, and picked up a genuine ACDC concert shirt from World of Vintage T-Shirts on Melrose Place. These shirts are the real deal! Not to mention, it is a fun place to just look through and explore some musical history! She paired it with a trendy asymmetrical skort from Topshop. We remember wearing skorts in preschool, and frankly we missed them. Good thing that Topshop has successfully designed a sophisticated and on-trend skort for grown ups! Considering that a campus like UCLA demands function out of style, this piece is pure brilliance. Jenna went the preppier route for spring, and visited Keene in Westwood for a bright salmon top. Paired with any denim or white bottom and a turquoise necklace, this top immediately creates a put together look! Photos were taken on North Campus at the Broad Art Center. Have a great week!

Kicking Back After Class

As english majors, we read a lot. This quarter, we have the pleasure of starting the 10 series... starting with 10A: 16th and 17th century English Literature. With Beowulf and Shakespeare on the reading list, we knew we'd be up for a struggle to get through these difficult texts. We knew we would need a break after each lecture. So, we decided we would go to the sculpture garden behind our classroom, read our homework, relax, and take pictures of our daily outfits. We love spicing up the dull classroom setting by dressing up and trying out new trends we've been seeing lately.

So get ready for more after english class outfit posts!

Spring Lightening.

Knowing I would be going home to the cold city of Chicago, I was unsure of what to pack for my spring break.   I knew it wouldn’t be like the sunny California weather I’ve been living in for the past three months. My mom informed me before I left that it had been snowing all week in Chicago.  I was hoping once I got off the plane that it would feel more like spring.. but I was instantly let down when I saw all the snow on the ground.
I decided I was not going to let the cold weather affect my spring season fever. So, I chose to lighten up my wardrobe (and my hair!) by still bringing home all my spring clothes and pairing them with my winter coats.   I paired my off-white oversized Topshop coat with my new floral Parker dress.  My light coat and floral dress still kept my outfit fresh and springy while keeping me warm in the Chicago weather.

"Rain is a Good Thing"-Luke Bryan
[What to Wear in it]

California rain can be confusing: Sprinkling one minute, pouring another minute, and completely gone the next. By extension, choosing outfits for potentially rainy days can also be a challenge! We've got you covered. Select thick leggings or jeans, a trusty pair of boots, and a knit sweater. The great thing about light knits is that they love to be layered. They fit nicely under any jacket and still complete an outfit when the jacket comes off! Pulling your hair back in a tight bun helps limit humidity-caused frizz or drenched hair. Bonus: When you get back home, run a blow dryer over the bun for a few minutes. When you let your hair down, you'll have beautiful waves ready for a night out...or a cozy movie night inside!

Sheer Genius
Whether you're headed to class or vacationing on the beach, sheer tops and skirts are a popular spring trend. The breezy fabric will keep you feeling cool and looking hot. Add a white tank like Chloe or a light sweater like Jenna, and you'll be set for spring!

Spring into the new season... with a new style!

Spring is just around the corner... and what better way to bring in the new season with an updated wardrobe.  There is no need to say goodbye to all of your winter clothes just yet. Mixing in new spring pieces to classic winter staples is a great way to get ready for the spring season.  Jenna updates her winter sweater with a boho dress and hat from Free People, while Chloe adds a LF leather jacket to her flowy black dress. Adding a leather jacket or cozy sweater to spring dresses and skirts is a great way to mix in old pieces with new. So instead of spending money on new clothes, just spring into the new season by mixing and matching clothes you already own in your closet! It is a great way to update your style without spending the extra cash.

Bring on Bohemian

Assorted Rings from Brandy Melville Here

The term "bohemian" exudes creativity, freedom of spirit, and bold expression. What better way to amp up your look than by being artistic and letting go of the rules? Why not stack on half the rings and bracelets you own? This makes even the most simple dress or t-shirt look like a work of art.
Stock up on arm candy from Brandy! Prices for rings and bracelets, as shown, range from $3 to $7. Get more mileage out of the delicate trinkets by painting the bands with clear topcoat nail polish. Order a bunch online, or stop in at our neighborhood location and explore a tiny treasure trove while in Westwood. By the time spring blooms, so will your breezy style and effortless (but oh-so-hip) stacks of jewelry.

Speaking of arm candy, the gold cuff is from Forever 21. The cuffs are great both alone and stacked with other jewelry. This is our current favorite
